The photo at left shows the tasty blue fruits of bog blueberry as seen in Swampy Meadows on the western slopes of Mt. Adams........September 6, 2008. Note that the stems are fairly straight (as opposed to being angled or zigzagged) and they are fairly round in cross-section. This species is also limited to fairly wet, usually open meadows although they can be found where trees have encroached upon a once open meadow.
