This photo shows the mat of leaves of Nelson's sulphur-flower as seen atop King Mountain in the King Mt. Rock Garden ACEC in the Umpqua N.F........June 25, 2005. Note that the lower surface of the leaves is densely covered with whitish hairs while the amount of whitish hairs on the upper leaf surface is much reduced, but not absent.
