Wildflower Bloom Reports for Central Oregon

Columbia & Great Basins of Central Oregon

Blue MountainPass

US Highway 95 (about 15 miles north of Nevada)

June 26, 1999

Blue Mountain Pass is found on the eastern edge of the Trout Creek Mountains. Pullouts are found on both sides of the highway at the pass, and both are frequently used. A small jeep road extends west from the pullout on the west side of the highway, and extends to jeep trails which travel the length of Blue Mt. as well as to the radio station atop Blue Mt. A low slung car can travel this road (scraping shrubbery and occasionally road bed too), but I wouldn't recommend such vehicles from travelling this road.
