1. Grant County RV Park: This park includes full hookups (water, sewer, & electricity) for RV camping. The park also includes restroom and shower facilities. Cost is $16 per day. Call to reserve a space, 541-575-0110. Reservations require a deposit of one-half the space charge. Deposits can be sent to John Day-Canyon City Park and Recreation District, P.O. Box 762, John Day, OR 97845. This site is a short 3 block walk from the Senior Center which is the site of the annual meeting and gathering place for all field trips.
2. Grant County Fairgrounds: Three grass fields are available for tent and RV camping. Space is available on a first come, first served basis. Facilities include restrooms, showers, vending machines, water spigots, and electrical hookups. Cost for the weekend is $5 per person or $15 per family of 3 or more. Electrical hookup for the weekend is $5 per cord. For information about camping at the fairgrounds, call 541-575-1900. This site is a short 3 block walk from the Senior Center which is the site of the annual meeting and gathering place for all field trips.
3. Clyde Holliday State Wayside: Camping is also available here at this site, about two miles east of Mt. Vernon, OR. 30 campsites are available on grass and with shade. Drive time to the Senior Center in John Day is about 10-15 minutes. Contact #s: (541) 932-4453 or (800) 551-6949.

4. Starr CG: Located just off US395, about 16 miles south of John Day as the highway crosses the crest of the Aldrich Mts. Drive time to John Day would be approximately 25 minutes. 8 campsites with pit toilets. Elevation 5100'. Fee: $4.
5. Wickiup CG: Located along Canyon Creek, approximately 30 minutes or 18 miles south of John Day. Drive south on US 395 then head east on FS Rd 65 approximately 6 miles. 9 campsites with pit toilets. Elevation: 4300'. Fee: None.
6. Strawberry CG: Located immediately to the north of Strawberry Mt, approximately 30-40 minutes east of John Day. Drive east on US 26 to Prairie City, then south for 11 miles, first on county road 62, then onto County Rd 60 which becomes FS RD 6001. Elevation 5737'. 11 campsites with pit toilets. Fee: $6.
7. Trout Farm CG: Located southeast of Prairie City along the John Day
R?, approximately 40 minutes from John Day. From Prairie City, proceed southeast
on County RD 62 which becomes FS RD 14, about 15 miles to the CG. 6 campsites
with pit toilets. Elevation 4900'. Fee: $6.
