Rocky Mountain Woodsia, Laurentian Cliff Fern
Woodsia scopulina
Rocky Mountain woodsia found growing on talus slopes along the Miller Creek Trail #1397, Wenatchee National Forest.......July 10, 2010. Note the numerous dried bases of previous years' fronds around the base of the ferns and the fronds which are bipinnate. The similar Oregon cliff fern (Woodsia oregana) generally has tripinnately divided fronds.
