The photo above shows a close-up of several stems of water chickweed. Note that each stem has several pairs of opposite, stem leaves which are oblanceolate to spatulate in shape. Two close-up images of a cluster of stems of water chickweed. Note that each stem in this cluster lies prostrate against the ground.
