Basal leaves of hemlock waterparsnip as seen in very moist ground and shallow pools at Goodrich Bog, north of Republic, Washington, Colville National Forest.........June 24, 2016. The stems of this species are hollow. The plant is toxic to eat and could be a problem if touched and then handling food or inserting contaminated fingers into the mouth.
