Two close-up images of the flower of long-bearded mariposa lily as seen near Mt. Adams..........June 18, 2006. The flower of this species is lavender in color and more cup-shaped than that of the subalpine mariposa lily (C. subalpinus) which is cream-colored. It is smaller than that of the green-banded mariposa lily (C. macrocarpus) which could potentially be found in the same habitat.
