[Hares and Rabbits of the Pacific Northwest]

What appears to be a Nuttall's cottontail observed in an area of suburbun pine forest and homesites between Five Mile and the Little Spokane River, Spokane County, Washington......September 13, 2020. There appears to be a thin, dark ring along the tip of the ears. The color is browner due to a heavy concentration of smoke in the air on this particular day. If this is not a Nuttall's cottontail, then it would most likely be an eastern cottontail.
