Enigmatic Bushmallow, Enigmatic Mallow: Malacothamnus enigmaticus

What might be enigmatic bushmallow, a new species of bushmallow in San Diego County. Malacothamnus aboriginus is also in the vicinity, though evidently not common, so that could be a possibility since I haven't seen a taxonomic key to help distinguish between the two species yet.
