What may be Booth's hairy evening-primrose observed adjacent to Fish Creek, upstream of Split Mountain Gorge, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, CA......March 25, 2010. Note the lack of basal leaves as the plant flowers as well as the narrowly lanceolate to lanceolate stem leaves. There is a possibility that this could be subspecies condensata which is more common in this area. I'd want to see maturing fruits to help narrow down this identification.
