Bluedicks, Blue Dicks, Wild Hyacinth: Dipterostemon capitatus ssp. capitatus (Synonyms: Brodiaea capitata, Brodiaea capitata var. insularis, Brodiaea insularis, Dichelostemma capitatum ssp. capitatum, Dichelostemma insulare, Dipterostemon insularis) - Inflorescence bracts generally dark purple. Pedicels more or less shorter than the bracts. 6-15 flowers present.

Bluedicks, Blue Dicks, Few-flowered Blue Dicks: Dichelostemma capitatum ssp. pauciflorum (Synonyms: Brodiaea pulchella var. pauciflora, Dichelostemma pulchellum var. pauciflorum) - In florescence bracts cream or white, often streaked with purple. Pedicels generally longer than the bracts. Plants 2-5 flowered.
